De winnaars van de BAFTA Video Game Awards zijn bekend. De awards werden woensdagavond uitgereikt in Londen, Engeland. De grote winnaar van de avond was Heavy Rain, een speelbare thriller voor de Playstation 3. Het spel sleepte maar liefst drie awards in de wacht (voor beste verhaal, technische innovatie en muziek).

De prijs voor beste spel ging naar Mass Effect 2, een actiespel dat zich afspeelt in de ruimte. Het spel Call of Duty: Black Ops van Activision Blizzard won de publieksprijs. God of War III, dat de strijd aanging met grote namen zoals Mass Effect 2 en Call of Duty: Black Ops, won de prijs voor beste artistieke prestatie.

De award voor veelbelovend talent (BAFTA Ones to Watch) ging naar Twang, een multiplayer-spel voor de Xbox 360 dat ontwikkeld werd in slechts zes weken.

De grote verliezer van de avond was LIMBO, het puzzel-platformspel van Playdead Studios. Dit spel ontving vier nominaties, maar mocht geen award mee naar huis nemen.
